**Understanding Midwifery in Canada Introductory Course**

**April 1, 2026 - June 30, 2026**

**Remote**

This position will provide creation and development of course content, assignments, grading rubrics, and online application to the ICEC platform.

Duties
Duties

We seek applicants for course development of an introductory micro-badge on Understanding Midwifery in Canada, who can:

  • Virtually meet with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and educational institutions
  • Understand student’s perspective in learning to register with a regulatory body
  • Develop/edit PowerPoint lectures and visuals
  • Create multiple choice questions for each module
  • Update visuals, links, and videos
  • Develop rubrics to address understanding and application of content and concepts
  • Develop qualitative rubrics to address student academic writing and focus on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission

Examples of topics: Canadian Context of midwifery, working as an autonomous care-provider, ethical practice in Canada, family and client centered dynamics, informed consent, registering with regulatory bodies, and Canadian Indigenous perspectives on birthing.

Qualifications

The candidate must demonstrate experience in these qualities or have the equivalent of these competencies:

  • Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development (Post-Secondary Development); or an equivalent of work experience in a Post-Secondary Health related environment, with at least a Bachelor’s degree in the Health field or Cultural Studies, preferably with a major in curriculum development.
  • Understanding of online systems and how to organize and move content into that system
  • Ability to manage their own workload, meet deadlines, report to a supervisor about updates on progress for review
  • Effective research and design skills with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Education experience, especially in an Indigenous context, considered an asset
  • Knowledge of regulatory process is an asset
  • Intercultural competence including intercultural sensitivity and adaptability, and the ability to conduct oneself professionally is essential
