**Location:**Hybrid; primarily remote, but with occasional travel to Toronto Provincial Office or a regional office as needed

**Hours:**37.5 hours

**Annual Salary:**$70,500 - $75,000

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Training & Education Supervisor, the Training and Education Specialist, with a focus in **Speech Language Pathology (SLP)**, plays a key role in creating, delivering, and evaluating high-quality educational content and training programs that align with Autism Ontario's mission of creating a supportive and inclusive Ontario for autism. This role supports the capacity-building efforts of internal staff and external stakeholders, ensuring content is evidence-informed and accessible to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that Autism Ontario’s mission, vision, and values are reflected in the development, delivery, and evaluation of all training and education initiatives.
• Contribute to the implementation and assessment of strategic goals specific to Autism Ontario’s training and education programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
• Design and develop evidence-based content (virtual and print based material) and SLP-informed interventions into Autism Ontario’s training and educational initiatives for staff and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as French Services, Adult Services and Communications, to produce training materials that align with organizational priorities.
• Develop and deliver training and education for educators, caregivers, and service providers to build awareness and capacity in SLP-related interventions.
• Evaluate the impact of training and education through feedback collection and performance metrics to inform continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to collaborative projects, research initiatives, and pilot programs focused on autism education.
• Support collaborations, such as with professional social work and mental health associations and service organizations, to advance Autism Ontario’s educational offerings.
• Develop and deliver training and education for educators, caregivers, and service providers to build awareness and capacity in SLP-related interventions.
• Stay current on industry certifications, legislative updates, and professional development opportunities relevant to autism and training delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field. Master’s degree with specialization in Speech Language Pathology is preferred.

• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in education, training design, or facilitation—preferably within the autism, developmental and social services, or non-profit sectors.
• Registration with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the Ontario Autism Program (experience working within the program is preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and designing accessible, inclusive, and engaging educational content.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking and workshop facilitation.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and managing multiple projects with efficiency.
• Must be proficient with various computer programs including database management, email, Microsoft 365 applications and have familiarity with social media and other technology tools and approaches.
• Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, neurodiversity, equity, inclusion, anti- racism, anti-Black racism, anti-ableism
• Bilingual proficiency (French/English) is an asset.
