This role leads implementation of related policies, procedures, and training, supporting both academic and service areas in applying best practices. Reporting to the Manager of Admissions, the coordinator oversees the operationalization of transfer credit and PLAR credit assessment processes, ensuring the timeliness, integrity, and accessibility of these processes. The coordinator monitors and researches best and emerging practices to inform institutional improvements and ensure NAIT remains aligned with provincial and sector standards while being on the leading edge of innovation in RPL. Working collaboratively across the institution, the RPL Coordinator manages the transfer credit application system, supports efficient assessments, and helps expand transfer credit and RPL opportunities that promote learner mobility and academic success. key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations of transfer credit evaluations and related RPL activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency Work with Admissions Coordinators and Officers to maintain consistent processes for prioritizing and posting transfer credit requests. Provide direct supervision for a role of the Admissions team which makes transfer credit decisions for select NAIT courses. Establish and maintain routing procedures for transfer credit and RPL decisions across all NAIT’s schools, including identifying and validating subject matter experts, as well as leading periodic reviews to ensure accurate workflows. Develop and deliver training and onboarding for academic and administrative staff on systems, tools, and process expectations Implement quality assurance checks to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks, and to ensure appropriate resolution Maintain documentation and knowledge resources to support operational clarity and continuous learning Ensure that NAIT’s database of RPL decisions is accurately maintained and accessible to provide information to prospective students, applicants, and NAIT staff. Oversee the use of systems and digital tools used for transfer credit and RPL to optimize workflows and the user experience – this may involve representing business area in the implementation of new software solutions or functionality Lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine RPL policies, procedures, systems, tools, and forms Analyze data from reports, dashboards, and surveys to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement Serve as NAIT’s operational contact person with the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) Partner with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., academic departments, student services, ACAT/other bodies) to uphold RPL best practices Provide strategic input and subject-matter expertise in development of new RPL processes and approaches skills & Abilities: Proven ability to coordinate and optimize complex operational processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across teams. Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workflows, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail Demonstrated capacity to interpret data, dashboards, and trends to inform decisions, identify risks, and guide strategic improvements Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including academic decision-makers, student services, external bodies, and provincial partners Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex RPL and transfer credit processes to varied audiences Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, recommend practical solutions, and resolve operational challenges Experience leading training, onboarding, or knowledge-building initiatives to support consistent practice across academic and administrative teams Demonstrated commitment to fostering a collaborative, learner-centered, and inclusive environment. Ability to influence without authority, using diplomacy, tact, and professionalism to guide process alignment and support institutional goals Knowledge of change management practices, with experience supporting system, policy, or workflow enhancements. Understanding of Canadian post-secondary and RPL frameworks, including transfer credit, PLAR, advanced credit, mobility pathways, and related best practices Competence with student information systems, digital tools, and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with admissions or transfer-credit technologies is an asset qualifications: Related post-secondary diploma (Education, Social Sciences or Similar). Degree is preferred. 3-5 years of experience working in higher education. Experience in Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) considered an asset. Equivalencies may be considered. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES). remuneration : $61,977.52 - $83,085.08 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
