Vretta

is looking for an Instructional Designer to join our Instructional Design & Editorial team. This is a unique and key role within the organization, requiring a blend of creativity, design thinking, excellent communication skills, and a high level of comfort with mathematics (first year post-secondary level). Instructional designers at Vretta drive the development of interactive digital content, aiming to provide students with an engaging learning experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work in cross-functional design and development teams to create learning and assessment resources.
  • Establish a framework for creating lesson content based on alignment with course content across the market, client requirements, and other learning materials such as e-textbooks, assignments, course outlines, and curriculum documents.
  • Create blueprints for lesson development by thinking through the subject matter and coming up with creative approaches to engage and communicate ideas to students.
  • Work closely with designers and animation specialists to bring the blueprints to life in the form of interactive, digital lessons.
  • Review and quality test instructional material on an ongoing basis to ensure that it is of the highest possible quality.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Education or a STEM related field, a PHD will be a strong bonus.
  • Work experience in education (teaching, instructional design, etc.).
  • Proven ability to design and develop literacy and numeracy assessments, ideally at high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of high school English, with the ability to create clear, accurate, and engaging language content.
  • Technically savvy, with a good eye for design.
  • Competent in high school-level mathematics and capable of building structured and pedagogically sound maths assessments.
  • Creative writing skills and strong communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, personable, and works well in cross-functional teams.
  • Superior time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience aligning assessment content with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in ensuring question clarity, appropriateness, and academic rigor.
